It hurt.

Something got me right near the ankle. Looking down I could see two little holes oozing a drop of greenish liquid. Although the holes were tiny I could feel them throbbing immediately. The skin around the bite turned purple and a network of reddish little veins started showing. Branching away from the bite an into my leg and body.

I could see a little a little snake type thing wiggling away in the plastic looking grass. The creature looked like a purplish inner tube, a little slimy. "Why does everything in this world look like it's rendered into a Pixar movie?" I said.

And then I fainted.

I woke up looking at some treetops from below. They were pretty close, and when I looked around it confirmed my suspicion that I was in some kind of tree type village. The girl was sitting next to me. She startled when I woke and came towards me. She had a little wet cloth in her hands with which she wiped my forehead. My lovely. Can you believe we'd only known each other for a couple of hours?

She looked into my eyes again. Although this didn't feel like one of our moments. Mostly because I felt super hungover and would probably vomit in her mouth if she were to lean over and kiss me. Instead she spoke:

"Are you allright? You've been out for quite a while."

"Where are we?" I asked, and tried to sit up straight. Which really didn't go so well.

"Some kind of tree type village." She answered.

"I got that. But like, WHERE in time and space? And who brought us here? Are there natives? Like, do they live here?"

"Let's not call them natives okay? It feels too close to savages and mankind has evolved socially to the point that we can recognise that everyone around us is just people. Allright?"

"Sure. And wow. But are they people though? I mean we ARE in another DIMENSION right? (was the poison making me emphasise?) They could be, like, floating tentacle creatures with glowing brains and telepathic powers."

"Nahh, they're just people. They look a little foresty and wild to me but I have a feeling they're a couple of lightyears ahead of people on earth."

"Awesome. So I take it they cured me?"

"Actually the thing that bit you isn't that poisonous at all. Its effect is more like a couple of hours of heavy drinking, they say. I guess you just passed out from the shock. That, or you really can't handle your drink."

"I can handle my fucking drink just fine!" I said, agitated. And disappointed that my dreamgirl had already seen a weaker side of me. Although, believe me, I really CAN handle my fucking drink just mutherfucking fine.

She laughed, kissed me on the cheek and stood up. I stumbled to my feet as well, and nearly fell to my death off the little wooden platform. I quickly regained my balance, leaning on the little rope type rail running around the circular terrace. Looking down I saw we were a good one hundred and something feet up in the air.

Did I mention I'm afraid of heights?
