Dating 404

I've just asked my first girl out via email. That's right. I've been on the Tinder now for quite a while. The creator of opportunities and the destroyer of everything that is exciting and tantalising about meeting people in real life. I've been on two dates through Instagram (They approached me! Can you believe?). But this was new to me.

How did this happen? I was going out to lunch with a friend of mine, picking him up from the place he worked. Should I call him to come down or just ring the door and go inside? I did the second thing. And good thing I did. Because in the doorway stood a beautiful girl, leading me in and helping me on my search through her building for my friend Koen.

Walking in I looked in her eyes, she in mine and I thought we had a moment. We didn't, as it turns out because I just read her email back saying how she thought it was really cool, funny and weird to ask me out this way but she would like to respectfully decline. Too bad, but that's how it goes, I guess. I knew it was a longshot and I'm not desperate. I think.

Why via email? Koen. After our lunch I texted him with the question how weird it would be if I asked the girl out through him. And he replied 'really weird', because they used to have a little thing going on. Big pimping. So instead of giving me her number (or Insta handle) I got her email address. And instead of being like 'what?' I was like 'sure!' Cuz that's me in a nutshell. I like stupid, awkward stuff.

And since this is supposed to be incredibly awkward autobiographical fan fiction and not faintly amusing dating diary entries I will now treat you guys to a fantastic tale of the love adventures that will never be between me and a girl I will spare the humiliation of sharing her name with you.
